Meet the Artist

Well I guess that means me!

The Treasury is after all my brain child and creative outlet. But there are actually two of me – Irene Davis and Baroness, Mistress Eirny Thorvaldsdottir, OL.

Irene took a very long time and many decades to realize that being an artist is really NOT a sin, and that she could both make a living doing art and enjoy herself, too. She has an M.A. in Anthropology with a specialization in Archaeology, several years of training as a jeweler and about twelve years experience creating lampwork beads.

Eirny is a member of the Society for Creative Anachronism. She was born of imagination – an early Icelandic persona, the daughter of a jeweler/trader who took over her father’s business and became a jeweler/trader herself. She was an artist irene making beadsfrom the beginning – making clothing, jewelry and dress accessories as a part of her everyday life. The Treasury is the result of her desire to promote the creation and use of archaeologically accurate glass beads and jewelery. Eirny Making Beads at the Pennsic War in PA.
